This is a post aimed at those who have throw insults and hate to me over the years. The video is of a group called SHINee, who I can say have been here for me since 2008 more than any real life friend has. You may think they look stupid, or the fact they sing in Korean is a ridicilous concept, but when times have been hard I’ve just turned to their music and felt better instantly.

I’ve had numerous and various people, including friends, who have mocked and made fun of me for being into this variety of music and for studying Japanese/Korean. Some things said have been racist, harsh and totally uncalled for. I like being open to another culture, it broadens my view on things that is usually shut off for most people.

I am not saying you should like SHINee, or any other kpop group. I am saying that you should accept I am HAPPY. When I saw them in concert I felt as everything bad that happened that year was pushed behind me. Why must people push down on me, throwing harsh words at me, just because you don’t find me “normal”. It IS normal to find an escape in music, and if this music is made by these 5 amazing guys, I don’t care.
